The word “icon” is often used in the automotive industry to describe new product launches, and in recent years there has been an almost inflationary tendency to refer to automobiles as such. In reality, however, only a few vehicle types really deserve this attribute and should therefore be called such. In the case of the Mercedes G-Class, however, there is definitely no question as to whether this designation is justified or not – over 40 years of construction, countless customers all over the world and the unbroken high demand for the Stuttgart luxury off-roader provide a clear answer here. The G-Class from Mercedes can and must be called one of the absolute icons in automotive engineering.

IDEA

In principle, every variant of the G-Class already offers excellent off-road capability, which is used by customers much more often than with classic SUVs. The starting point and original idea for the development of the “MANSORY Gronos 4×4” was to offer an individualized vehicle, perfectly tailored to personal taste, to those customers who place the highest value on maximum off-road capability of their G-Class.

BODY – CONVERSION

The body styling of the “MANSORY Gronos 4×4” impresses after this complete conversion both optically and technically. All aerodynamic add-on parts – starting with the front apron, the elegantly widened front fenders, the widening of the doors and the rear apron – emphasize the powerful yet elegant appearance of the vehicle. Of course, as with every MANSORY complete conversion, all these components are made of full carbon.

Especially the ultra-light full carbon hood impressively shapes the front end and gives the car an impressive appearance at first sight. At the rear, the spare wheel clads entirely in visible carbon, together with the rear apron and the roof edge spoiler, provide a harmonious finish to the overall concept.

A bumper guard mounted in front of the rear apron and in body colour especially for tough off-road use in conjunction with the four LED auxiliary headlights mounted on the roof visually distinguishes the “MANSORY Gronos 4×4” from the other G-Class conversion programs from MANSORY..

RIMS | TIRES

The “MANSORY Gronos 4×4” is equipped with rims of the type “FD.15″ in rim size 9.5 x 22”, on which off-road tires in the dimension 325/55R22 are mounted all around.

PERFORMANCE

Thanks to various modifications to the drivetrain, the “MANSORY Gronos 4×4” has superior performance data, which ensure a high performance on and off the road. Thanks to an engine output of 850 hp and a torque of 1,000 Nm, the resulting performance data is 210 km/h top speed (limited) and an acceleration of 4.5 s from 0 to 100 km/h.

INTERIOR

As with all MANSORY complete conversions, the interior can basically be freely selected in terms of leather, colors, quilting and carbon design.

The refinement of the interior corresponds in type and extent to a classic complete conversion from MANSORY.

Many lovingly and in the highest quality craftsmanship executed details – such as the seat belts with embroidered MANSORY logo, MANSORY sport aluminium pedals, a MANSORY leather sports steering wheel, elaborately quilted MANSORY leather floor mats, MANSORY lettering in the grab handles, and countless other detail solutions make the “MANSORY Gronos 4×4” a very special vehicle, which is able to implement the customer’s wishes in every respect in a masterful way, even in the interior.

The rear area of the “MANSORY Gronos 4×4” is particularly impressive due to its luxurious individual seating, which is combined with an individually configurable center console.

A start/stop button relocated into the headliner between the sun visors and several hundred illuminated LEDs in the headliner and in the door panels representing a starry sky complete the changes in the interior of the “Gronos 4×4” and offer a unique ambience for the highest demands even in a vehicle designed for extreme off-road capability.
